Salesforce jumped on the social distance challenge right away and introduced Salesforce Anywhere. The Anywhere app is designed to keep everyone on your team up to date on the latest business news. The app allows information to stay all in one place rather than being spread out across multiple platforms. This allows users to collaborate efficiently, and with full business context, wherever they may be.
A couple weeks ago we started a conversation about the work-from-anywhere world. While it’s important that businesses are able to get on board with the new way of life, it’s also important to discuss what a successful business communication plan looks like while employees are working remotely. The topic of discussion for many business owners was about how they were going to be able to keep their employees communicating, productive, and accountable.
At Digital Mass, we had approached our clients with a half-on, half-off site project structure. This method allowed us to build a solid and trustworthy relationship with our clients, while still having a “home base” to come back to, share our successful practices, and better serve our clients.
In a distanced world the way we talked to each other has had to change to accommodate the new mandates. Now, it is even more important to us that our teams have the tools available to stay up to date on project updates and resources that they need to best serve our clients. Immediately we recognized that a single streamlined tool would have much better efficacy and adoption, than a confederation of tools. The base functionalities of the Anywhere app are not what make it so enticing - there are all sorts of collaboration tools available. We have loved our Slack account for how they allowed us to communicate with each other. Our feeling that Salesforce Anywhere will win out against the rest because it puts all of these features under one roof.
Running all of our collaboration applications, we found that the downside to using many apps is the continual dilution of our attention economy with the incessant flood of notifications and check-ins. Throughout the day each of the applications would compete for our attention and pull us out of the deep concentration we apply to our tasks. You can do your best in order to attenuate the updates each app gives you, but you are left managing individual application preferences. The pings and pile of notification false positives pile up! The promise of Salesforce Anywhere has us excited to have everything from chats to project alerts, comments, and video calls embedded into one platform. Heck, it should be one simple workflow, within the CRM we already live and breath.
