Salesforce jumped on the social distance challenge right away by introducing Salesforce Anywhere. The Anywhere app is designed to keep everyone on your team up to date on the latest business news, but the major draw to the app is that it allows information to stay all in one place rather than being spread out across multiple platforms. This allows users to collaborate efficiently, and with full business context, wherever they may be.
A couple weeks ago we started a conversation about the work-from-anywhere world. While it’s important that businesses are able to get on board with the new way of life, it’s also important to discuss what a successful business communication plan looks like while employees are working remotely. The topic of discussion for many business owners was about how they were going to be able to keep their employees communicating, productive, and accountable.
At Digital Mass, we had approached our clients with a half-on, half-off site project structure. This method allowed us to build a solid and trustworthy relationship with our clients, while still having a “home base” to come back to, share our successful practices, and better serve our clients.
In the now distanced world, the way we talk to each other has had to change to accommodate the new mandates. Now it is even more important to us that our teams have the tools available to stay up to date on project updates and resources they need. We recognized that a single streamlined tool would have much better efficacy and adoption than a confederation of tools. We feel that Salesforce Anywhere will win out against the rest because it puts all of these features under one roof.
Having a handful of collaboration tools, we felt the downside of using all of them apps. It creates a continual dilution of our attention span with the non-stop flood of notifications and check-ins coming in around the clock. Throughout the day each of the applications competes for our attention and pull us out of the deep concentration we aim to apply to our tasks. You can do your best in order to mute the updates each app gives you, but you are left managing individual application preferences which is an activity that most would rather leave on their to-do list. Even if you do get it crossed off, you're still left checking all of them later once the notifications have piled up!
The promise of Salesforce Anywhere has us excited to have everything from chats to project alerts, comments, and video calls embedded into one platform. We have high hopes that this app with create one simple workflow, within the CRM we already live and breath.
