Justin VanderSchaaf

Justin VanderSchaaf is the Staff Augmentation practice lead at Digital Mass, where he directs talent strategy and scales high-performing teams for clients, drawing on more than a decade of management experience. His career started in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he learned to lead under pressure and think analytically. Since then, he has applied those skills across corporate investigations and large-scale retail operations, building teams, opening new locations, and solving complex problems.

At Digital Mass, Justin focuses on understanding a client's operational gaps and placing the right people to fill them — with the same rigor he brought to high-stakes environments earlier in his career.

Fun Facts

• Justin was deployed to Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011 with the USMC, where he worked directly with the Afghan National Army, performing operations and training their instructors to graduate thousands of incoming students.
• Known for being the ultimate DIYer, Justin and his wife tackle massive structural home projects from scratch, including building a 150-foot retaining wall, constructing their home's decks, designing a 700+ sq. ft. garden, and diving into custom interior woodworking and auto mechanics.
